Customer Beware Gamble Plumbing — the name says it all. You’re taking a gamble if calling them will actually solve your problem or just drain your wallet. I called Gamble Plumbing, but then got a call that A & J Plumbing was coming instead. They said its the same company. Probably should have dug into that before saying to come to my house. They advertise “no weekend or special fees,” which apparently just means everything is expensive. Gamble’s price for a drain snake? $360. I accepted it, expecting an inflated rate being on the weekend. The tech found the pipe from my wash tub was clogged and suggested replacing a section of pipe for $780, but admitted he wasn’t sure it would actually solve the problem. He then offered he could just snake it “about 20 ft as originally planned." What actually happened: he ran about 18 inches, then said he couldn’t get through the 90° elbow. And I quote “i can almost never get through the 90s.” Instead of telling me that upfront so I could make an informed decision, they charged the full fee anyway. When I said I felt ripped off, the tech flatly told me he couldn’t do more because he had another job at 4 p.m. (it was 3:15). The $360 is for any drain snake attempt regardless of how pitiful. Just money gone for nothing. This felt misleading from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend Gamble Plumbing or A&J Plumbing to anyone.

called about the main line backup and mentioned it was a holiday. no extra charge confirmed. tech came out, cleared the roots, charge was identical to a weekday call. that policy is the reason i give gamble's number every time a neighbor asks who to call

Sewer line excavation and replacement took 2 days. Crew explained each stage before starting, cleaned up at the end of each day, trench was backfilled and compacted properly. Passed inspection without issues.

Backup in the utility tub drain cleared in about 30 minutes. Tech showed me what had accumulated in the line and suggested a maintenance interval to keep it from building up again. Useful information for a house this age.

Called on a holiday weekend, confirmed no extra charge, and had a tech out the next morning. Main line was backed up from roots. Cabled clear, technician confirmed full flow before leaving. Exactly what you want from a plumbing emergency.
